Hey what's up, I made a new avatar. This is just a journal to say hey, I don't make a lot of journals so when one gets really really old I feel the need to replace it. I've been mostly just cranking out portraits of famous faces lately because they're really satisfying to paint and it's a new spin on images that many people can relate to. I hang out much more on tumblr (http:/surrealtoons.tumblr.com), so stop by because it's a much better platform for getting to know artists in my opinion. Hey guys, I've changed my username to surrealtoons! Surrealtoons is my username everywhere else on the internet (at least the important places) so I wanted to be more uniform, and it also just reflects my work better. Purplepaintjob was pretty arbitrary. BUT MY COMIC. I'm participating in nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month) by writing a comic since it's a pretty awesome event but I'm not a great writer. I probably should have announced it more formally in a journal prior to the start of November, but regardless I'm telling you now when there will be less waiting.
